Production Shift Manager

Second Shift Production ManagerA well-established manufacturing organisation is seeking a Second Shift Production Manager to lead evening operations at a high-volume production facility. This role is responsible for overseeing assembly, crating, material handling, and sheet metal operations, ensuring production objectives are consistently met across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.Core ResponsibilitiesLead all second-shift operations across Assembly, Crating, Material Handling, Sheet Metal, and Quality.Drive safe, on-time, cost-effective production through disciplined labor planning and execution.Align daily with plant leadership and cross-functional partners on priorities and constraints.Ensure material, tooling, and equipment readiness to prevent production downtime.Own safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance; act quickly to correct deviations.Capture and communicate off-shift issues requiring Engineering, Quality, Safety, or HR follow-up.Develop staffing plans that flex with demand and optimize workforce efficiency.Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure production-ready processes.Identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.Analyze production KPIs to drive operational performance.Standardize processes, systems, and reporting.Lead, coach, and hold supervisors and teams accountable for results.Conduct root cause analysis and implement lasting corrective actions.Ensure compliance with OSHA, EEOC, and company policies.Support site-wide operational initiatives as needed.Skills & ExperienceManufacturing leadership experience; glass, window, curtainwall, or architectural productsStrong command of shop-floor operations, equipment, and workflowsProven ability to lead teams under aggressive production schedulesEpicor and ADP experience strongly preferredData-driven problem solver with strong computer skillsHands-on leader willing to work on the floor and support off-shifts as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred5+ years of manufacturing or production leadership experienceExperience leading hourly production teams
