This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their technical career while gaining exposure to a wide variety of customer environments and technologies.The engineer will work closely with TeamShield's Senior Engineers, Architects, and Cybersecurity Team to deliver exceptional customer service, support projects, and maintain customer environments. This role includes both remote and onsite support responsibilities.This position provides significant opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, technical training, and certification advancement.Key Responsibilities - Customer Support & Technical Services• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for TeamShield customers.• Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, and application issues.• Support Microsoft 365 environments including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.• Respond to service requests and incidents in a professional and timely manner.• Escalate issues appropriately to Senior Engineers when necessary.• Document customer issues, resolutions, and technical environments.Network Engineering Support• Assist with the deployment, configuration, and support of network infrastructure.• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and internet connections.• Support Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, SonicWall, and other networking technologies.• Assist with network assessments, upgrades, and refresh projects.• Create and maintain network documentation.Systems Administration Support• Support Microsoft Windows Server environments.• Assist with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).• Support Microsoft 365 administration and user management.• Assist with server migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.Cloud & Cybersecurity Support• Assist with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud projects.• Support endpoint security, multi-factor authentication, and cybersecurity initiatives.• Assist with vulnerability remediation and security best practices.• Work alongside TeamShield's cybersecurity team on customer security projects.Infrastructure Deployment & Data Center Support• Perform rack and stack installations for servers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems, and related equipment.• Install, label, and organize equipment in network closets and data centers.• Assist with office relocations, technology refreshes, and new site deployments.• Maintain professional cable management standards.• Support MDF and IDF buildouts and infrastructure projects.Structured Cabling (Preferred)• Perform light structured cabling work when required.• Run, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling.• Install patch panels, keystone jacks, faceplates, and cable management systems.• Troubleshoot cabling and physical connectivity issues.• Coordinate with low-voltage contractors on larger cabling projects.Required Qualifications• 1-3 years of IT support, help desk, MSP, or infrastructure experience.• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, VLANs, wireless networking, Microsoft 365, Windows desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.• Excellent customer service and communication skills.• Strong organizational and documentation skills.• Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.• Willingness to learn and grow professionally.• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Preferred Qualifications• Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, or Ubiquiti networking equipment.• Experience deploying and supporting Ubiquiti UniFi wireless, switching, and gateway solutions.• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.• Experience with Windows Server environments.• Experience performing rack and stack deployments.• Experience with light structured cabling.• Experience with Fortinet, SonicWall, or other firewall technologies.• Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience.• MSP experience is a plus.• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or Cisco CCNA.Travel Requirements• Regular travel to customer locations throughout New England.• Employees are expected to use their personal vehicle for onsite customer visits.• TeamShield Group reimburses mileage, parking, tolls, and approved business-related travel expenses.• Occasional after-hours or emergency onsite support may be required.• Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work in network closets, data centers, and customer office environments.Compensation$60,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience, technical skills, certifications, and overall qualifications.Career GrowthGrowth path toward Systems & Network Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, and Solutions Architect roles.Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience across managed services, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, AI, and consulting engagements while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
