Parts ManagerJob Category: MaintenanceLocation: Leesburg, VA 20175, USAPay Range: $65,000 USD to $75,000 USDDescriptionKnowledge and Experience:High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree is preferred2+ years of proven parts management experienceExceptional customer service and follow-upReliable transportation and a current driver's licenseStrong proficiency skills with various computer programs and applicationsAutomotive, medium/heavy duty truck and sanitation truck parts experience a plusPrior management and/or supervisory experience preferredPrior parts experience with heavy equipment preferredAbility to read, comprehend and follow technical manualsMust have excellent telephone communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsThis position requires flexibility in working hours and job assignmentsCore Competencies/Responsibilities:Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective partsStocks inventory at appropriate levels while maintaining appropriate services to shop operationsPrepares and conducts physical inventories quarterlyProvides reports and computer-generated reports as necessaryMaintains an effective parts catalog systemDevelops relationships with key vendorsReviews purchase ordersPrepares invoices for the AP department by coding invoices with the correct account code numberEvaluates inventory recordsMaintains records and prepares required reports relevant to the operations of all parts departmentsProvides technical assistance to parts department employeesConducts meetings with parts department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operationMonitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescenceEnsures that the Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS) conforms to the requirementsEnsures that the RTSMS processes are delivering their intended outputsReports to management on the performance of the RTSMS and on opportunities for improvement and on the need for change or innovationEnsures the promotion of customer focus throughout the organizationEnsures the integrity of the RTSMS is maintained, when any changes to RTSMS are planned and implementedOther duties as assigned by managementWork Conditions:This is a 24/7 operation, so flexibility is required. Weekend work. Long hours. Working outdoors from time to time.Physical Requirements:Physically able to lift to seventy-five {75) pounds. Repetitive work. Standing for extended periods of time. Ability to bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist when stocking parts.Must be able to work around vehicle noise and fumes.Additional Statements:Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
