Our work focuses on creating safe, supportive pathways that help individuals and families thrive.We are seeking committed and passionate individuals to join our working board, where members contribute not only to governance and oversight but also to hands‐on activities that strengthen our programs and expand our impact.Position TitleBoard Member (Working Board)Role OverviewBoard Members serve as both strategic leaders and active contributors to the organization's operations. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about our mission and willing to engage in hands‐on support, fundraising, outreach, and program activities.Board Members typically contribute 5–8 hours per month, including meetings, committee work, and operational support.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide active governance and strategic oversight to ensure the organization fulfills its mission of supporting women, children in need, and veteran women.Participate in monthly board meetings and contribute to planning, decision‐making, and organizational development.Support fundraising efforts, including donor outreach, events, sponsorships, and grant connections.Assist with program activities such as volunteer coordination, outreach events, resource drives, or mentorship initiatives.Serve on at least one committee, such as Development, Programs, Governance, or Community Outreach.Act as an ambassador for the organization by promoting the mission and building relationships with partners, donors, and community stakeholders.Contribute 5–8 hours per month to board duties and hands‐on operational support.Ensure ethical stewardship and compliance with organizational policies and nonprofit best practices.Support the Executive Director or leadership team with guidance, expertise, and practical assistance when needed.QualificationsPassion for serving women, children, and veteran women, and a strong commitment to the organization's mission.Experience in one or more key areas such as fundraising, nonprofit management, finance, marketing, social services, community outreach, or program development.Strategic planning experience, with the ability to contribute to long‐term organizational goals and growth.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively, and engage with diverse communities.Willingness to be hands‐on and actively participate in both governance and operational tasks.Strong communication and teamwork abilities with a collaborative mindset.Ability to commit 5–8 hours per month, including meetings, committee work, and hands‐on support.Professional integrity and sound judgment in leadership and decision‐making.Prior board experience is helpful but not required — training and onboarding will be provided.Comfort engaging with donors, partners, and community members to advance the mission.Time CommitmentApproximately 5–8 hours per month, including board meetings, committee participation, and hands‐on support activities.
