Busser PositionA busser is someone who is attentive to customers and coworkers so that the guests dining in the restaurant have the best experience possible. Cleaning tables, booths, and chairs, quickly removing dirty dishes, and resetting tables are all part of a busser's day.The busser will help the wait staff and bartenders by setting tables, clearing tables, and helping keep dishes and silverware stocked in the dining room. They will occasionally serve food and beverages to patrons at tables. The ideal busser candidate will be professional, friendly, and will strive to meet the highest standards of quality customer service.Busser Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparing for guests by cleaning and setting tablesSetting up any seasonal decorations, candles, or table clothsGreeting patrons, and if needed, escorting guests to tablesAssisting guests by providing menus; keeping menus clean and presentableServing water to guests and refilling beverage glasses as neededPlacing and replacing silverware as neededStocking wait staff serving stations with napkins, utensils, trays, condiments, and salt and pepper containersRemoving guests' dirty dishes and utensilsDelivering used dishes and utensils to the kitchen for cleaningAssisting dishwashers to scrape, stack, or load dishes into dishwasher as neededVacuuming, sweeping, or mopping dining roomRemoving trash and recycling; replacing trash bagsCleaning up guest spills as neededDirecting guests to restrooms or exits as neededClearing table as guests complete their meals and preparing tables for next guestsFollowing and maintaining all sanitation and safety proceduresPerforming closing activities such as cleaning chairs and tables, stacking chairs, preparing stations for morning shiftAdditional duties may include assisting kitchen staff with preparing ingredients and cleaning kitchen surfacesBusser Requirements and QualificationsAble to move and clean quickly in a fast-paced environmentFriendly "people-person"; polite and courteous to all patronsWorks well as part of a team and on individual tasksExcellent at verbal communicationWorks well and efficiently under pressureWilling to work nights and weekendsPhysically able to wipe down table tops, chairs, and booths; able to pick up debris from floor; able to carry 25 or more pounds; able to push vacuum or mopPhysically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shiftAble to speak EnglishEager to learn and grow with restaurantResponsibilities:Minimum Qualifications:Minimum age: 16 years of age.Must have reliable transportation.
