Production Shift Supervisor - Charleston, SC 12 hour rotating shifts

Shift SupervisorThe Shift supervisor supervises all facets of the shift including ensuring appropriate staffing levels, employee issues, production schedules are met, and ensures the safety of plant employees.ResponsibilitiesDetermines machine setup proceduresStarts and adjusts machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredientsOptimizes product output. Optimizes product qualityMonitors machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctionsChecks the quality of productsShuts down machines if quality or machine problems cannot be corrected in a reasonable time frameEnforces all safety and environmental guidelinesEnsures that the right people are in the right places at the right times, that they are trained, and mentored to develop to be their personal bestMonitor all documentation to ensure all is in complianceEnsures that all work areas are clean and organizedReceives information from Production Manager about: products, production schedule, raw materials and recipes, quality specifications, safety and environmental guidelines, and manufacturing process changes and improvementsInforms the Production Manager about product quality problems, equipment problems, problems with personnel, machine downtime, work orders to request repairs from maintenance, safety concerns and education/training needsInforms Machine Operators and Assistant Shift Supervisors about: machine setup changes and process related informationAny other duties that the Company in its sole discretion may assign as neededRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to troubleshoot and multitaskHigh attention to detail and is willing to learnTeam player who is reliable and trustworthyMaintains a clean and safe work area.Verbal and written communication skills in English.Organizational skills and attention to detail.Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma / GED, requiredAssociates Degree or completion of a Certificate in manufacturing, science, machine tool technology, welding, industrial technology, or other related areas, preferredPrevious experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing with at least 5 subordinatesPhysical RequirementsMust be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.This position requires, but is not limited to, standing, walking, utilizing stairs or ladders, driving automatic forklift, climbing, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing and grasping.Must be able to work in a non-controlled environmentAGRU AMERICA, INC.
