Staff Accountant Our client is an established investment and real estate firm located in downtown Chicago looking to add a Staff Accountant to their finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s financial reporting and close processes, ensuring accuracy across accounting records while partnering with a collaborative, high-performing finance team.Offers a strong culture and competitive benefits package, including a hybrid work schedule, free parking, commuter benefits, on-site gym access, annual bonus opportunity, and a pension plan!ResponsibilitiesSupport the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy of underlying dataManage day-to-day general ledger activity, including recording transactions, analyzing account balances, and resolving discrepanciesExecute monthly and annual close activities such as posting journal entries, developing accruals, and completing reconciliationsMonitor and review cash-related activity and maintain supporting documentation for financial transactionsPartner with auditors by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and supporting the overall audit processIdentify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within accounting operationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA designation required2+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a public accounting or professional services environmentSolid understanding of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and close cyclesStrong proficiency in Excel and comfort working within financial systemsDetail-oriented with the ability to analyze data, solve problems, and manage competing prioritiesPay Transparency Statement: The compensation philosophy reflects the Company’s reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
