Environmental Health, Safety (EHS) and Facilities Engineer

The Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for maintaining safe, compliant, and well-functioning manufacturing facilities across all company sites. This role combines ownership of environmental, health, and safety programs with hands-on facilities and vendor coordination. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, site leaders, and operations teams, this position ensures that our safety and environmental programs meet internal and external requirements, our buildings and grounds are properly maintained, and our associates work in a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment.Key Tasks: 1st Priority: Health and Safety: Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; communicate findings and follow up on corrective actionsCoordinate incident investigations and track corrective actions to prevent recurrenceMaintain safety records, training documentation, and regulatory compliance files (OSHA logs, permits, etc...)Partner with site leadership to ensure emergency preparedness plans and drills are up to date and effectiveAssist in training employees and supervisors on safety procedures, hazard communication, PPE and safe work practicesPromote a culture of safety across all facilitiesLead and maintain the Safety Management SystemCoordinate with key external safety specialty resources as appropriate2nd Priority: EnvironmentalSupport the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs and procedures across all sitesConduct environmental inspections, audits and risk assessments; communicate findings and follow up on corrective actionsMaintain records, training documentation, and regulatory compliance files (permits, waste manifests, etc...)Manage hazardous waste disposal, recycling programs, and environmental compliance reporting (EPA, state, and local)Promote a culture of environmental responsibility across all facilitiesLead and maintain the Environmental (ISO 14001) Management SystemCoordinate with key external environmental specialty resources as appropriate3rd Priority: Facilities ManagementCoordinate reoccurring facility operations and maintenance for all sites, including building systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire suppression, etc..) grounds and utilitiesManage vendor relationships and service contracts for janitorial, landscaping, pest control, waste removal, and other facility servicesSupport capital improvement and repair projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budgetAssist with space planning, site upkeep, and minor construction efforts as neededTrack facility work orders, utility usage, and contractor expenses to support budgeting and planning Education:  Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, equivalent experience acceptedExperience:  3-7 years of experience in safety or environmental compliance in a manufacturing or industrial environmentWorking knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local safety and environmental regulationsExperience/understanding of ISO 14001Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites, priorities, and vendor relationships effectivelyStrong problem-solving, organizational and follow up skillsComfortable with hands-on inspections and field activitiesProficient in MS Office and able to maintain digital documentation and reporting Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
