Principal Systems Engineer

A Day in Your Life at MKS: (Summary & Objectives)As a Principal Systems Engineer you will lead the development of the next generation of technologies that enable new market applications. You will provide technical leadership in efforts associated with a variety of disciplines including electronic control systems, mechanical subsystems, signal acquisition, and data processing. This opportunity will primarily encompass the design and development of ozone systems that depend on complex control loops of high-powered RF generators to create highly reactive chemistries used for semiconductor applications. Additionally, this opportunity will expose you to other product families consisting of remote plasma sources, microwave delivery systems, and infrared spectrometers.As a curious, successful candidate you will operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical environment and work with cross-functional teams to support innovative designs and differentiated technologies.You Will Make an Impact By: (Responsibilities)Work as the lead of a technical team responsible for the design, modeling, testing, and packaging of highly complex electro-mechanical components and systemsDrive project completion across functional engineering groups including Design, Production, Manufacturing, Quality, and ReliabilityWork closely with Product Marketing and Product Management to scope market requirements and customer needsCreate system level engineering design specifications and project scope documentsManage project budgetary costs, schedule, and technical specificationsDevelop, document, and execute design verification plans. Report on results and present appropriate engineering tradeoffs to optimize functional performance, reliability, and product costCommunicate effectively with the development team and management stakeholders in both oral and written formsEnsure product design meets industry and regulatory compliance requirements and standardsAnalyze and implement continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and cost reductionSkills You Bring: (Required Skills)Bachelor’s degree in electrical or systems engineering or similar with 7+ years of experienceProficient with vacuum environments consisting of mass flow controllers, concentration monitors, pressure controllers, vacuum pumps, and system level integration of peripheral measurement equipmentSkilled with the design and test of complex hardware/embedded software systems that begin with proper scope, requirements reviews, and developing the concepts necessary for operationAbility to understand and manage tradeoffs between cost, performance, and schedulesExperienced in the development and testing of system integration & DVT plansProven accomplishments in electrical or systems design or similarStrong technical communication (verbal, written, presentation) skillsSkilled with Failure Analysis (FMEA) and structured problem solvingCompensation and Benefits: Salary Pay Range: $ 138,825.00 - 231,375.00 per year.
