Install, repair, inspect, test and cleannew and existing equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:High school diploma or equivalentJourneyman's plumbing license or comparable experienceValid Texas driver's licenseDriving record that is insurable with Plano ISD's insurance carrierSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to communicate well and deal with all people in a courteous and positive mannerAbility to read and interpret building plans, blue prints and specificationsAbility to read and understand plumbing instructions effectivelyKnowledge of commercial plumbing, and applicable boiler and plumbing codesExperience:Five years of experience in the plumbing tradeMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water coolersAnalyze each job assignment and consult with the supervisor to ensure labor and material are availableStudy building plans and drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installationComplete work orders in a timely manner, ensuring that each work order shows a history of labor and material usedInspect facilities and initiate work, as neededFollow safety rules and procedures, and assume the responsibility of ensuring that safety rules are being followed by plumber techniciansMaintain a clean company vehicle (interior and exterior) and report any vehicle irregularities Maintain a neat and professional appearance that is safe and representative of the departmentFollow all rules, regulations and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisorFollow attendance policy as assigned by supervisorPerform other functions that may be assigned by the adMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Respond to and immediately address any active threat incident on campusPatrol assigned campus and be visible throughout the day, especially during passing periods, lunch periods, drop-off and pick-upAssist with and be visible during drop-off and pickupConduct frequent exterior door sweeps to ensure all doors are locked, closed and functioning properlyImmediately brief Safety and Security Coordinator on safety or security issues discovered and/or brought to your attentionWork closely with campus staff and other district personnel to promote a safe and secure environmentConduct Safety and Security Inspections at assigned campusDemonstrate and maintain firearms proficiency as determined by the districtParticipate as a member of the Campus Emergency Planning TeamPatrol district in marked security vehicle and respond to campuses as assignedAssist in drills and exercises that promote emergency preparedness of campusPromote and reinforce district policies and procedures relating to safety and securityServe as liaison between campuses and law enforcement, fire/EMS personnel and other outside agencies responding to incidents or investigating matters of concern to the districtComplete incident reports and other documents as required or directed in an accurate and timely mannerProvide security coverage at campus or district special events and functions as neededUtilize district security cameras to review incidents and/or save video footage as required or instructedMaintain a high level of confidentiality and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all timesServe as a resource to campus in areas of safety, security and emergency preparednessServe as the department's representative on Level 1 threat assessments when instructed or requested to do soAttend training as required or directed Operate walk-thru and handheld metal detectors as assignedFollow all rules, regulations and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisor Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor Perform all other duties as assigned by the administration and/or supervisorEquipment Used:?Plumbing equipment to include, but not limited to, sewer machines, torches and VOM; heavy machinery, including front-end loaders and backhoes; and Plano ISD vehiclesWORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands:Ability to maintain emotional control under stressPhysical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional lifting and carrying, 15-50 pounds; occasional twisting, reaching above shoulder, bending, climbing, crawling, and digging; manual dexterity to complete projects in a craftsman fashion; may require working in inclement weather
