Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesField Service/Support Engineer (Levels 1 through 6): Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers’ needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to sales personnel, customer support reps, or engineers. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experienceStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issuesProven ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentationDemonstrated proficiency with standard engineering tools, test equipment, and softwareExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced, customer‑focused environmentsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesWillingness to travel as required for customer support, training, or project executionExperience in the semiconductor, automation, or advanced manufacturing industries is preferred but not requiredWhy Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
