Summary: The Production Generalist is responsible for operating and maintaining the blast booth and equipment, performing material handling functions, and supporting general production and assembly operations as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Blast OperationsOperate blast room and equipment to achieve specified surface finish (remove rust, scale, etc.)Maintain and perform general up keep of blast booth and blasting equipmentDemonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of blast equipment and various blast mediaComplete final inspections to ensure product qualityMaterial Handling & InventoryOperate forklift, pallet jack, crane, and hoist to move materials and finished productPerform daily inspection and preventative maintenance of fork truckHandle and move materials, components, and products throughout departmentsLocate and deliver materials, parts, and components listed on production ordersConsolidate and kit component parts as directedIdentify, label, and record inventory locations to maintain organizationVerify inventory accuracy and make necessary adjustmentsUnload and receive raw materials as neededCoordinate material needs per production scheduleAssembly & General ProductionUse hand, electric, and pneumatic tools to assemble parts and components per written and verbal instructions, diagrams, and blueprintsUnderstand prints, process sheets, and related documentationAssist with packing, crating, labeling, palletizing, stretch wrapping, and metal bandingRecognize and identify products and fabricated sheet metal componentsMaintain compliance with Business Management System (BMS) requirementsAssist with additional duties as assignedQualifications & SkillsGeneral manufacturing experience requiredKnowledge of fabricated sheet metal products, raw materials, and supplies preferredAdvanced knowledge of fork truck operation and safetyIntermediate knowledge of blasting equipment and mediaBasic to intermediate math, computer, and communication skillsAbility to read and understand written and verbal instructions, blueprints, and process documentationMechanical aptitude and familiarity with manual, electric, and pneumatic toolsAbility to accurately use measuring devices (e.g., tape measure)Ability to recognize and identify products and materialsPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and crouchingFrequent lifting up to 10 lbsOccasional lifting up to 50 lbsFrequent use of hand and pneumatic toolsSpecific vision abilities required (distance, color, and depth perception)Work EnvironmentManufacturing environment with fork truck trafficExposure to blast media, dust, oils, and solventsSharp edges on materials and packagingRequired use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
