Health, Safety, & Compliance Analyst (Summer 2026)

Brief DescriptionInternship (Full-Time, Summer 2026)Position OverviewFortis Energy Services, Inc. is seeking motivated students to join our team as a Health, Safety & Compliance Analyst Intern.This role offers hands-on experience supporting oil & gas safety operations, regulatory compliance, and environmental health & safety (EHS) programs. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time employment after graduation.Internship DetailsDuration: June 1 – August 31, 2026Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)Locations: Plano, TX or Waskom, TXKey ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting field-based safety inspections, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessmentsMonitor job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and oil & gas industry standardsSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs and proceduresDocument incidents, near misses, and corrective actionsParticipate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire orientationsMaintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentationPromote and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Assist with environmental compliance tasks including spill prevention and waste handlingManage and maintain compliance across industry platforms including ISNetworld, Avetta, and VeriforceSupport OSHA and DOT reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submissionMaintain employee training records and track upcoming training requirements to ensure ongoing complianceMinimum QualificationsWorking toward or completed Occupational Safety CER 1 (preferred)Basic understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety principlesAbility to work in field environments (including outdoor conditions and active job sites)Preferred SkillsStrong attention to detail and hazard recognition skillsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesInterest in oil & gas safety operationsOrganizational and documentation proficiencyProactive, safety-first mindsetWhat You’ll GainReal-world experience in oil & gas EHS operationsExposure to industry-standard compliance systems (ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce)Hands-on involvement in OSHA and DOT regulatory processesMentorship from experienced safety professionalsOpportunity for full-time employment with Fortis Energy Services, Inc. after graduationWork EnvironmentCombination of office and active oil & gas job sites.
