Crew Lead- Planet Excavation LLC Job type: Full-time (In-person) Location: Durango, CO 81301 Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience) Hours: 40–60 hours per week (overtime opportunities available) Job Description Planet Excavation is looking for a skilled and reliable Crew Lead to join our team in Durango, Colorado. We’re a locally owned excavation company specializing in residential and commercial site work, grading, and site preparation. As a Crew Lead, you’ll safely and efficiently operate machinery such as excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders to complete excavation projects throughout the Four Corners area. You will also oversee job sites, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and site preparation Oversee and coordinate job sites Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and basic maintenance Read and follow grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans Load/unload materials and move dirt and gravel as needed Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors Follow all company and OSHA safety standards Keep a clean and organized work area Qualifications Proficient in plan reading Profficient in grade 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, dozer, blade, etc.) Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required) Leadership experience or ability to supervise a crew Familiarity with excavation processes Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions Dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused Benefits Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) Steady, full-time hours with overtime opportunities Work outdoors in beautiful Southwest Colorado Opportunities to operate a variety of equipment and gain new certifications Supportive, family-oriented team environment Local projects — be home every night About Planet Excavation Planet Excavation is a locally owned and operated company serving the Durango, CO area.
