If you’re ready to apply your technical expertise to complex structural challenges while mentoring others and delivering exceptional client service, this role is for you.What you'll do:Perform structural analysis and design for industrial, commercial, municipal, marine, institutional, residential, and energy projectsDesign a variety of structures, including treatment plants, bulkheads, piers, wharves, bridges, buildings, drainage and water-control structures, marinas, pump stations, monuments, and specialty equipment foundationsPrepare construction documents, including drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, calculations, technical specifications, and design deliverablesEnsure designs comply with applicable building codes, local amendments, and project standardsPerform structural condition assessments of existing structures and prepare detailed reportsProvide construction administration services, including submittal reviews, site visits, contractor coordination, and responses to technical questionsCoordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and other design disciplines throughout project deliveryPerform peer reviews of calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reportsMentor and support engineers and engineering interns within the structural departmentManage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectationsWhat you bring:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focusProfessional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) certification strongly preferred8+ years of structural design experienceProficiency with structural analysis and finite element modeling software, primarily RISA and SAP2000Strong knowledge of structural design principles and experience with concrete, wood, structural steel, and masonryExperience with AutoCAD and RevitProficiency with Microsoft Office, Mathcad, Excel, and ENERCALCStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and project teamsProven ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize workflow, and complete tasks within budgetStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to perform field work for assessments and construction observation in a variety of environmentsAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamExcellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlinesWillingness to periodically travel to other officesWhy Thomas & Hutton?Why Thomas & Hutton?Competitive salary plus performance bonusCondensed work schedule for better work-life balanceTop-tier health, dental, vision, and prescription coverage401(k), generous PTO, holidays, and tuition assistanceThomas & Hutton University and professional development opportunitiesSchedule:On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.How to apply:Ready to bring your Civil 3D expertise to projects that shape communities and infrastructure?
