JOB DESCRIPTION
Perform skilled mechanical, plumbing, and fuel gas code inspections to verify compliance to a variety of systems, including the most technically complex engineered commercial systems to ensure installation in accordance with approved project drawings, codes, standards, and specifications.
Inspect and verify testing of wet and dry heating and cooling systems, ducts and piping, fuel gas piping, refrigeration systems, building ventilation systems, exhaust systems, product conveying and hazardous exhaust systems and all related equipment for conformity to plans, approved materials, installation instructions and corresponding code requirements.
Inspect complex commercially engineered systems specific to the building and its use. Interpret code requirements to verify commercial building systems operate together.
Read and interpret on-site approved plans, notes, specifications, material and equipment listings and installation instructions.
Verify equipment and fuel gas sizing is correct, installed and tested in compliance with code requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certification required.
10-hour OSHA safety training certification required.
Thorough knowledge of NYC mechanical, plumbing, and fuel gas codes, rules and ordinances; extensive knowledge of mechanical and fuel gas installation practices, systems and materials and intermediate knowledge of legal processes involved in the enforcement of building codes and ordinances.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
