Analytics Lead

Analytics Lead What you will be doing: You will apply your strong understanding of how to solve business problems with data-informed decision making, helping others leverage analytics to improve their organizations. You will work with analysts, engineers, product owners, data scientists, and data management staff who share a passion for improving healthcare in the US. You will interface with supply chain, administrative, and clinical staff who support hospitals and patients on the front lines. You will help shape the end-to-end experience of a range of user personas who are evolving to become increasingly data-informed throughout their day-to-day activities. You will use your analytical skill to gain a deep understanding of large datasets, such as purchasing transactions representing nearly half the spend in the US healthcare supply chain. Based on your own perspective as a data consumer, you will influence how the data is modeled, presented, and marketed. This often involves creating innovative data visualizations and analyses, achieving new insights that may influence entire organizations within healthcare, the US government, and medical supply / pharmaceutical manufacturing & distribution. It will also require you to keep abreast of the rapidly evolving self-service BI and data commercialization spaces. By empowering others, you will get to see people and organizations grow across the healthcare sector, making better decisions, faster, and eliminating unnecessary costs while improving care. Key Responsibilities Responsibility #1 - 15% Engage directly with the healthcare professionals, consultants, and Premier staff to understand their needs as they pertain to data, analysis, and business intelligence technology. Responsibility #2 - 15% Help lead the development cloud-based data marts that contain healthcare supply chain, finance, operations, and workforce data. Responsibility #3 - 15% Develop initial analytical solutions on top of the mart, such as dashboards & visualizations, to validate the underlying utility of the data and demonstrate its value. Responsibility #4 - 5% Develop & maintain both internal & commercial analytics solutions across a large user base. Responsibility #5 - 5% Lead rapid investigation into & resolution of data / solution integrity issues. Responsibility #6 - 5% Create compelling ad-hoc analyses to help guide business decision making and recruit new clients. Responsibility #7 - 5% Train SQL and/or BI-tool capable end users to consume data from the mart to support their analysis and custom BI-solution needs. Responsibility #8 - 10% Work iteratively with key user groups and engineering staff to rapidly refine the solution. Responsibility #9 - 10% Help achieve a user experience based on feedback, usage data, and personal experience that generates excitement around data- and analytics-as-a-service offerings. Combine a deep understanding of the analyst persona with a firm grasp of the specific problems the user's business is trying to address to create highly effective solutions. Depend on the solutions yourself to maintain strong first-hand experience. Responsibility #10 - 5% Manage the day-to-day of several large internal/external client relationships, assisting with troubleshooting, training, and regular communications. Responsibility #11 - 5% Work closely with Premier Product Implementation, Master Data Management, Data Operations, and Data Science teams to improve upstream data collection & cleansing. Responsibility #12 - 5% Innovate to create new solutions/enhancements and service opportunities to help grow the business. Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required) Preferred Qualifications Skills: Intermediate capability with analysis/reporting/visualization tools (Tableau preferred, alternates include: Microsoft Power BI, Qlikview, Looker, Google Data Studio). Need to have advanced capabilities with AI (CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.), ability to integrate code into repository. Writing and reading SQL. Ability to work without frequent supervision and with complete latitude for independent judgment. Agile development / project management using productivity software (such as Planner or Jira). Ability to mentor less experienced peers and provide project / team leadership as needed. Experience: 5 years of work experience within supply chain, healthcare administration, or healthcare-related areas of government / policymaking / research. Demonstrated success using and helping develop data analytics solutions that have been operationalized by business teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with, and facilitate across, both business & technical stakeholder groups Experience with data modeling, data / dashboarding performance tuning, and SQL optimization. Experience with business analysis / requirements gathering. Experience working data management team(s) to improve the integrity of master data and data cleansing. 2 years of experience using cloud-based data warehousing & analytics technology such as Google BigQuery, Azure SQL Data Warehouse / Synapse, or Snowflake. Experience working with large (> 1 billion record) datasets. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
