This role focuses on aircraft communications systems, including Rockwell Collins CMU, ACARS over IP, and avionics integration on Boeing 767 platforms.This is a hands-on engineering role requiring deep technical expertise, combined with the ability to mentor engineers, lead training sessions, and deliver production-ready software solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver 44 structured mentoring and training sessions to engineering staffConduct weekly technical sessions on:CMU operation and limitationsCMU programming and configurationDefine and document technical requirements for:Integration of Aircraft Interface Device with CMUImplementation of ACARS over Internet ProtocolTroubleshoot and resolve system issues, including:Diagnosing PUSH request failuresEliminating CMU-related causesAchieving 90% reliability during testingDevelop and deliver two production-ready CMU software releases for Boeing 767 aircraftSupport implementation under FedEx Engineering OrdersRequired QualificationsStrong experience in avionics systems engineeringDeep knowledge of:Rockwell Collins Communications Management UnitACARS and aircraft data communications systemsExperience with aircraft systems integration including AID and avionics interfacesProven ability to troubleshoot complex avionics and system-level issuesExperience developing or supporting certified avionics software releasesAbility to lead technical training and mentor engineering teamsStrong documentation and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working on Boeing 767 or similar aircraftFamiliarity with ACARS over IP implementationsPrior experience supporting cargo or airline operations environmentsBackground working with OEMs or avionics suppliersAbout STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading organizations across aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, defense, and industrial sectors.
