Johnsburg School District 12School Nurse - ESY (Summer School)Reports ToUnder the daily supervision of the Building Principal and/or Director of Student ServicesConditions Of EmploymentSummer Program: On school days when students are present (8:00AM - 12:00PM)Dates: Monday - Friday (June 8, 2026 - June 26, 2026 (no attendance June 19th))QualificationsBachelor's Degree/Associate's Degree in NursingCurrent Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of IllinoisFirst aid and CPR/AED program completionExperience in school nursing preferred but not requiredRespect confidentialityMust be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations Performance ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing direct nursing to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community.All duties are performed in accordance with district/state Board of Education policies and procedures and state law regarding nursing practices.Strong organization skills.Working knowledge of computer, network and software applications utilized within the school district.Ability to collaborate effectively with others.Maintain health records for each pupil.Participate in efforts to control communicable disease.Promote compliance with the laws of the State of Illinois that pertain to physical examinations, immunizations, and other health matters.Make referrals for students who have failed vision and/or hearing screening and to follow-up with parents who need assistance.Familiarity with emergency situations as follows: fire drills, tornado drills, code yellows, code reds, etc.Protects the confidentiality of district and student records and information.Promotes a positive relationship with students, staff and community.Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality.
