Purchasing Supervisor
The Purchasing Supervisor position requires an experienced, ambitious professional able to operate and thrive in a dynamic environment, while assuming responsibility for the procurement of nearly 80% the company’s deployed capital. Under the direction of the company’s Manager of Strategic Sourcing and Chief Financial Officer, this role has regular interaction with Finance, Sales, and Operations while effectively balancing cost, lead time, and quality. This position oversees a business function critical to the company on a global scale, and as such represents a significant opportunity to contribute leadership and value to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a process by which the company will identify and demonstrate cost productivity and avoidance on material purchases
· Develop and implement a process by which the company will identify and demonstrate cost inflation on material purchases
· Negotiate with vendors to maximize purchasing power and minimize raw and component material cost
· Optimize the performance of the sourcing function by balancing material cost, lead-time, and quality
· Develop and implement vendor performance evaluation and reporting
· Provide goals, oversight, and functional and professional development of company buyers
· Serve as the central resource for sourcing data, reporting, and analysis
· Contribute to the ongoing development of the Strategic Sourcing Organization’s contributions to the Sales Quoting Process
· Manage both in-bound and out-bound freight compliance, cost, and vendor relationships between US and International locations
Education and Professional Requirements:
· Must have a Bachelor’s Degree,
· 5-10 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
· Experience managing and developing direct reports
· Must have acquired demonstrable skills necessary to provide solutions to organizational challenges and work across business functions
Technical Requirements:
· Must have ERP experience, preferably SAP Business One
· Must be highly competent in using Microsoft Excel as a reporting and analytical tool
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
