Seasonal Retail Associate (Tasting Room or Depot)

At this location, on-tap beers and seltzers are served at the hospitality bar, guests can learn about the unique story and history of our brewery and beers, and merchandise can be purchased.Depot Retail Associate: Multiple Full-time positions (some overtime may be available) and Part-time positions. Evening and weekend shifts are available.The Alaskan Depot is in the heart of downtown Juneau and caters to locals and tourists looking for Alaskan beer gear, merchandise and gifts. Hoodies, t-shirts, pint glasses, artwork and more - you'll find it at the Depot!The Position:The Seasonal Retail Associate's primary responsibility is customer service at our various locations, including standard retail responsibilities and beer-tending. General tasks and responsibilities include:Welcoming and engaging customers while in the retail locationsParticipating with customers throughout their experienceOperating cash register and POS systemMaintaining merchandise stock, cleanliness, organization and displaysMaintaining general cleanliness of facilitiesMay be asked to assist with inventory counts and receiving, folding and tagging merchandiseMay be asked to assist with driving shuttle to/from the Tasting Room and DepotBeer-tending at hospitality bar (Tasting Room, although Depot staff may be asked to assist if needed)Conducting guided tastings as needed (Tasting Room)Reporting to the Retail Supervisor, this person works as part of a retail team, directly with customers, to ensure that each one is treated with an authentically Alaskan quality of service. Skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this position include:Passion for people and strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenKnowledge of merchandise inventory and features (training provided)Knowledge of Alaskan Brewing Company history, beers, and craft beverages (training provided)Ability to operate cash register and POS system (training provided)TAPs certification within 30 days of beginning employment (training, time, and certification paid for by Alaskan Brewing Company)Moderate computer skillsAbility to perform repetitive lifting, building product displays and merchandising store, including the ability to stack 40-pound cases to a height of seven feet and lift kegs weighing up to 160 pounds.Excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to perform time-sensitive, fast-paced, physically demanding activity
