CAD Distribution Standards DrafterTampa, FL (Hybrid)Contract Duration: 12 monthsSchedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Flexible start time between 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM)Onsite Requirement: On-site 5 days per weekPay: 48 per hr on W2Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Distribution Standards Drafter to support the development and maintenance of electric distribution standards and engineering drawings. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all standards, drawings, and construction designs meet National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements and internal engineering standards.The ideal candidate will have strong drafting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced utility environment.Required QualificationsMust-Have Skills & ExperienceEngineering degree requiredExperience with CAD and/or MicroStationStrong drafting and graphics experienceTechnical writing skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detailProficient typing and documentation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively2–4+ years of utility industry experiencePrior experience with utility drafting or standards drawingsAdditional technical writing experienceKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and revise distribution standards and special designs in compliance with NESC requirementsDevelop and maintain:M-DrawingsH-DrawingsConstruction StandardsSpecial DesignsTEMS drawingsProvide timely drafting updates and support to Distribution Engineering and other internal stakeholdersUpdate and maintain the Approved Materials Catalogue (AMC)Prepare documentation and drafting updates for monthly Standard Practice Committee Meetings (SPCM)Review and proof engineering and technician drawings for construction accuracy and design complianceParticipate in standards meetings and cross-functional collaboration effortsDay-to-Day ActivitiesMeet with the Standards Supervisor to review priorities and assignmentsRevise and maintain distribution standards documentation and drawingsAttend weekly standards meetings and monthly SPCM meetingsCoordinate with internal departments including:Distribution EngineeringAsset ManagementSafetyTrainingTransmission EngineeringMeter DepartmentProcurementIdeal Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be:Detail-oriented and analyticalFlexible and adaptable to changing prioritiesTeam-oriented and collaborativeSelf-motivated and capable of working independentlyImportant ConsiderationsCandidates without prior drafting/drawing experience may not be consideredAn engineering degree is required for this position
