This hybrid role based in Pittsfield, MA involves developing and configuring solutions to complex engineering challenges, testing and troubleshooting in a lab environment, and creating documentation in support of a rigorous engineering process. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to government security clearance requirements, and candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and configure infrastructure solutions to complex mission-critical engineering problems in support of U.S. Navy programsEvaluate systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable government security specificationsIdentify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses across hardware and infrastructure environmentsDevelop system security documentation and support system accreditation, certification evaluation, and test activitiesGenerate and support technical engineering products throughout the full system development lifecycleContribute to the engineering framework used across multiple products and systems to shape future capabilitiesTest and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions in a controlled lab environmentCreate comprehensive documentation to support a rigorous and compliant engineering processIdentify and apply AI-driven opportunities for continuous improvement and operational innovationCollaborate daily with an agile team to problem-solve and ensure commitments to the U.S. Navy mission are metMandatory SkillsU.S. Citizenship required — ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatoryBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience — OR Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experienceClear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standardsStrong knowledge of requirements management and system modeling toolsCreative problem-solving ability with capacity to quickly grasp and apply new informationStrong collaborative skills with experience thriving in agile, team-driven engineering environmentsCommitment to ongoing professional development for self and peersAwareness of AI application opportunities for continuous improvement and innovationNice-to-Have SkillsPrior experience supporting federal defense or U.S. Navy programsFamiliarity with DoD security accreditation and certification processesExperience working in lab-based hardware testing and validation environmentsBackground in mission-critical or operational technology infrastructure
