Job Description DescriptionSr. Software EngineerLocation: Austin, TXAbout The CompanySalient Systems is an industry leading manufacturer of next generation Enterprise Security Solutions. Salient Systems products are designed for recording, live view, and investigations of both analog and IP video cameras for video security installations. The product, CompleteView, is designed with the IP network in mind. A suite of features provides for minimal bandwidth impact and easy system administration.This role is inherently cross-functional and requires a strong ability to think big and influence others as you will work closely with teams across engineering, operations, finance, and security.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Web Developer to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in web client and cloud portal development, with expertise in TypeScript, NodeJS, Angular, and MongoDB. Additionally, experience with Salesforce, AWS, Docker, and end-to-end testing using Cypress is essential. Knowledge of MPEG video decoding and video dewarping using Immervision for web clients is a strong plus.The role also involves working with proxy development, requiring proficiency in HTTP, WebSocket, and TCP Socket technologies. Experience with mobile app development using TypeScript, NodeJS, React-Native, Swift, and Kotlin is optional but highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, enhance, and maintain web client and cloud portal applications using TypeScript, NodeJS, Angular, and MongoDB.Integrate and work with Salesforce, AWS, Docker, and Cypress for end-to-end testing.Implement MPEG video decoding and video dewarping with Immervision in web clients.Develop and maintain proxy services using TypeScript, NodeJS, HTTP, WebSocket, and TCP Socket.(Optional) Develop and maintain mobile applications using TypeScript, NodeJS, React-Native, Swift, and Kotlin.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in web development, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead developer role.Required Skills Web Client and Cloud Portal:Proficiency in TypeScript, NodeJS, Angular, and MongoDB.Experience with Salesforce integration.Strong knowledge of AWS and Docker.Proficiency in Cypress for end-to-end testing.Experience with MPEG video decoding (Web Client).Familiarity with video dewarping using Immervision (Web Client).2. Proxy Development:Proficiency in TypeScript and NodeJS.Experience with HTTP, WebSocket, and TCP Socket.Strong knowledge of AWS and Docker.3. Mobile Apps (Optional but preferred):Proficiency in TypeScript, NodeJS, and React-Native.Experience with Swift for iOS native streaming modules.Experience with Kotlin for Android native streaming modules.Knowledge of video/audio decoding (MPEG4, H.264).4. Cloud Gateway:Experience with cloud gateway technologies is an added plus.Other SkillsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.RequirementsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer).Experience with Immervision video dewarping technologies.Location Requirement:Candidates must be local to Austin, Texas.Must be available to come to the office 3 days a week.We believe that good engineers are driven by the opportunity to produce great software.
