Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager / Project Engineer / Project CoordinatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. These projects involve a variety of low voltage distribution work, both overhead and underground. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure that project scope, schedule, and budget expectations are met or exceeded.ResponsibilitiesLead all phases of project management including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure effective project execution.Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff.Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring all steps are completed in a timely manner.Reach out to other departments for projects with barriers to completion and escalate as needed.Collaborate with Resource Planners on forecasting crew movement for successful project completion.Serve as the single point of contact for various departments when projects encounter barriers.Provide weekly updates to Program Managers and Directors on project statuses.Participate in problem-solving and lean management efforts to improve processes and gain efficiencies.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or General Business (or 2+ years of relevant experience).2+ years of project management and utility experience.PMP certification or equivalent preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Additional Skills & Qualifications* Experience related to utility work, including low voltage distribution, substation, transmission, natural gas, underground utility, sewer lines, or water lines.* Experience in commercial or industrial construction projects.Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes working out of a Consumers Energy service center site closest to the candidate's location three days a week, with the option to work from home or visit construction sites on the other two days. The office in Northville is a brand new state-of-the-art modern workspace.
