This is a critical executive role for a dynamic problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads with purpose, and is ready to build something great alongside a young, energetic, and smart team.The COO will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO/CFO and senior management team — fully aligned with senior management and our corporate vision — leading all project lifecycle activities from engineering and design through installation, turnover, and lessons learned, while upholding our core standard: “Excellence is Our Standard, Customer Service is Our Passion.”This is an opportunity for a committed, hands-on leader who wants to build a department up, not just manage it — someone who sees the potential in a growing organization and has the drive and structure to unlock it.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Operations & Project LeadershipProfitability Management: Develop and execute strategies to ensure sustained project profitability, including job costing, profit-and-loss oversight, and financial accountability across all engagementsOperational Planning: Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive project planning and schedulingEngineering Re-estimates: Manage engineering re-estimates to keep project budgets on trackProcess Excellence: Drive continuous improvement across all operational workflows, including documentation, project execution, and service delivery. Champion the organization’s ability to manage change and scale effectively through periods of growthCustomer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary interface for key accounts, championing customer development and satisfactionProject Execution & ManagementProject Scheduling: Develop, generate, and maintain detailed project and labor schedulesTeam & Subcontractor Oversight: Manage installers, technicians, and subcontractor selection and performanceProject Lifecycle: Oversee all project phases: start-up, checkout, turnover, and postmortemsChange Management: Estimate labor and material change orders and manage all change order documentationMeetings & Coordination: Lead project meetings and coordinate effectively across tradesProject Engineering & Technical DevelopmentSystem Design: Contribute to the design of temperature control systems and related building automation products through SSC processesSoftware Development: Develop and document project software, including databases, programs, and graphicsMaterial Management: Assist in equipment and material standardization; manage material schedules and requisitionsTechnical Documentation: Support compilation of project submittalsTraining & ServiceTechnical Training: Develop and execute training programs for technicians, engineers, and internal staffCustomer Training: Create and deliver customer training on newly installed systemsDocumentation: Ensure accurate documentation of service orders, billing, and labor/material estimatesPost-Installation: Oversee proper postmortem documentation and lessons-learned processesWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Experience & Qualifications10+ years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls experience — this is a hard requirement10+ years of management and leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing teamsHands-on experience with job costing and profit-and-loss management, with the ability to analyze financial performance and drive profitability at the project levelStrong scheduling and project management skills with a history of delivering complex projects on time and within budgetDemonstrated ability to manage organizational change and lead through rapid growth — building scalable processes and maintaining excellence through expansionExperience estimating labor, managing change orders, and overseeing subcontractorsWho You AreA dynamic problem solver who approaches challenges with creativity, urgency, and confidenceA team player — collaborative, engaging, and energized by working alongside a talented group of peopleCommitted, loyal, and accountable — someone the team can count on to follow throughVersatile and open-minded, able to adapt as priorities shift in a rapidly growing companyStructured and organized, bringing clarity and process to complex operational environmentsAligned with senior management and the corporate vision — a true partner in building the company’s futureExcited to build — you don’t just want to manage a department, you want to grow oneHigh sense of urgency — you move fast, make decisions, and keep things moving forwardCompensation & BenefitsSetpoint Systems Corporation offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience:Base salary: $120,000+ depending on qualifications and experiencePerformance-based incentivesComprehensive benefits package, including 401k matchCompany carOpportunity to play a defining role in the growth of an established industry leaderHow To ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter detailing their relevant experience and leadership philosophy.
