Meat CutterReports to: Store DirectorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptWe are looking for a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team and ensure the highest quality meat products for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing meat to store specifications, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the meat department is stocked, organized, and ready for customer needs. Customer service is key, as you'll assist customers with their meat selections and provide expert recommendations. If you have experience with meat cutting, a passion for quality products, and a strong attention to detail, we invite you to apply and be part of our team!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCut, trim and prepare meatEnsure product qualityPackage and label meatMaintain cleanliness and sanitationAssist with inventory managementEnsure safety standardsStock and organize meat displayTrain meat cutter traineesMonitor temperature and storagePerform all other duties as assignedQualificationsMust be 18 years or older due to age-related work restrictionsBasic knowledge of meat cuts, food safety and sanitation standardsPrior experience in meat cutting, food handling or retail is a plusAbility to operate meat cutting and packaging equipment safely and efficientlyStrong customer service skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional mannerAttention to detail and ability to follow instructions and store policiesAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamWorking ConditionsWork is typically performed in a grocery store environment with frequent exposure to refrigerated areas and freezersExposure to sharp equipment requiring high attention to safetyFast-paced environment especially during peak shopping hoursMust be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as neededAs a condition of employment, you are required to obtain a valid Food Handler's Safety Card within thirty (30) days of your start date. You will be responsible for completing any necessary training and certification requirements to obtain this card.
