Job Description Korex is looking for a buyer to join our team!Responsibilities:Support goals and objectives as established by management, with emphasis on strategic packaging sourcingResponsible for management and competitive sourcing for, but not limited to, packaging items in accordance to the specifications provided by the customerEvaluate, manage and negotiate competitive bids for assigned categories to achieve annual cost savings target set by managementInventory management and distribution for assigned categories by utilizing various ERP toolsWork with Sales for new product development and packaging engineer for vendor selection and making sure the packaging integrity is sufficient for commerce, keeping quality high at the best possible priceManage and supervise Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programsManage vendor relationships with the goal of minimizing costs and maximizing efficienciesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree preferred3+ years manufacturing experienceUnderstanding of forecasting, budgeting and inventory managementStrong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Professional experience in direct supplier negotiation, contract and vendor management and pricing/costs decisions.non-automotive experience preferredCompany DescriptionThe Korex Companies are Contract Manufacturers and Packagers of a wide variety of consumer, industrial, private label, and institutional products.
