POSITION SUMMARY
The Loss Prevention & Recovery Collector is responsible for contacting charged-off accounts to attempt recovery, place accounts with the external collections vendor, send collection letters if needed, contact potential charge-off accounts to obtain collection in order to prevent charge-off, work and resolve assigned client disputes, prepare various charge-off and recovery management reports, answer and resolve in-bound calls placed to the Corporate Billing Customer Service Queue, if time permits performs the duties of a Collector.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Work potential charge-offs in a timely manner to prevent loss
Work charge-offs to attempt recovery
Evaluate and place accounts for collection efforts by the third-party collection's vendor
Work and resolve assigned client disputes in a timely and accurate manner
Document collection and recovery efforts in the cbCentral system in a clear and concise manner
Prepare management reports accurately and by timeframes prescribed
Communicate in a clear and professional manner; provide courteous customer service
When necessary, performs essential duties of Collector
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENICES
High school graduate or equivalent is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as excellent customer relations skills
Must have 2 years or more collection experience
Must be able to function effectively as part of a team and must possess the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with employees, management and external customers
General computer skills including e-mail usage; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Must effectively manage workflow and assignments-appropriately prioritizing work. Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
