Albright College seeks a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the founding Director of the Center for Nonprofit and Civic Administration. The Director will lead the development, growth, and day-to-day operations of a newly established center dedicated to strengthening nonprofit organizations and municipal partners through high-quality financial management, strategic consulting, and capacity-building services.
This role blends mission and execution. The Director will build trusted relationships across the region, deliver hands-on advisory services, and position the Center as a go-to resource for nonprofit and civic leadership. The Director will also play a key role in integrating students into applied learning experiences that support community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Center Development
Launch and lead the Center, including refining its service model, pricing structure, and growth strategy
Establish the Center as a regional leader in nonprofit and municipal consulting
Develop partnerships with nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations
Identifyopportunities for expansion, including new service lines and funding sources
Client Services & Consulting
Provide or overseefinancial managementservices, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Advise nonprofit and municipal leaders on strategy, operations, and organizational effectiveness
Deliver interim or project-based consulting engagements
Ensure high-quality, client-centered service delivery across all engagements
Revenue Generation & Sustainability
Develop and manage a revenue-generating service model
Secure contracts and agreements with nonprofit and municipal clients
Partner with Advancement toidentifygrant and philanthropic support opportunities
Track and report on financial performance andimpactmetrics
Student Engagement & Academic Integration
Create experiential learning opportunities for Albright students (internships, project work, fellowships)
Collaborate with faculty to integrate Center work into the curriculum where appropriate
Mentor studentsparticipatingin Center projects
Operations & Team Leadership
Build and manage a small, high-performing team
Oversee day-to-day operations, including project management and client delivery
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and relevant regulations
Establish systems for tracking outcomes, client satisfaction, and impact
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, nonprofit management, or related field
Significant experiencein nonprofit finance, municipal finance, or consulting
Demonstrated success in managing budgets, financial reporting, and organizational operations
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a new initiative
Preferred
Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related field)
Experience in higher education or working with student-based programs
Background in consulting, shared services, or outsourcedfinancial management
Familiarity with nonprofit compliance, grant management, and governance
