Senior Project Manager – General Contractor/Construction (Data Center Projects) - Can reside anywhere in the USDirect Hire OpportunityNo SponsorshipLocation: Anywere in the USTravel: ~75% (Approx. 3 weeks/month on-site; 1 week/month remote)Relocation: Optional for multi year project assignmentsWe are partnering with a leading, fully integrated design-build and construction firm to identify an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, large-scale data center projects from inception through completion. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical builds with strong visibility and ownership. The ideal candidate has a proven track record operating as a General Contractor (GC), including direct experience supporting data center facility design and construction , and has led the full project lifecycle—from subcontractor buyout through final turnover. This individual brings a stable career history, thrives in environments requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution, and is comfortable with a travel schedule of approximately three weeks per month.RequirementsBachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience managing construction projects as a General Contractor (GC)Direct experience supporting data center facility design and constructionProven experience leading the full construction scope, including:Subcontractor buyoutSafety and field executionSchedule ownershipRFIs and submittalsChange managementPay applicationsCoordination of all trades through project turnoverDemonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced, complex environmentStrong understanding of estimating, construction methods, and project delivery modelsKnowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction environmentsStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsHighly organized with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilitiesWillingness and ability to travel approximately three weeks per month based on project needsResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end execution of data center construction projects across design-build, construction management, or construct-only delivery modelsPartner with preconstruction teams to support RFP responses, including conceptual estimating, scheduling, and proposal developmentReview and monitor design progress; provide input on constructability, scope, and cost impactsDevelop detailed project estimates, cost codes, and implement cost control systemsManage subcontractor procurement, including bid packaging, leveling, qualification, and contract awardsEstablish project team structure and coordinate closely with field leadership, including superintendentsBuild and manage project schedules, conduct regular site meetings, and maintain schedule updatesOversee project financials, including labor tracking, cost reporting, forecasting, and budget managementCoordinate permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals with appropriate governing authoritiesManage RFIs and submittals, ensuring alignment with project timelines and specificationsServe as the primary point of contact for clients, leading progress meetings, managing communications, and addressing inquiriesOversee change order process, including negotiation, documentation, and budget updatesManage invoicing and pay applications while supporting strong project cash flowReview and approve subcontractor/vendor payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms and insurance requirementsAddress subcontractor and supplier performance issues, including documentation and corrective action as neededMonitor project execution for quality, safety, and compliance with company standardsCoordinate all trades through project completion and turnoverSupport development and mentoring of junior team membersLead project closeout, including punch lists, final documentation, and warranty coordinationThis is an opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering complex, mission-critical projects, with strong support, growth potential, and long-term career advancement.
