Job DescriptionAmerican Greetings is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Growth & Performance Marketing to lead revenue and membership growth for our Interactive Division’s digital subscription business. This role will own the full marketing funnel, from acquisition and conversion to engagement, retention, and monetization, driving an increase in revenue over the next four years.The ideal candidate is both a visionary leader and a hands-on operator with deep expertise in performance marketing and lifecycle strategy. They will leverage data-driven insights, paid and owned media channels, and rigorous experimentation to scale customer acquisition, optimize conversion, and maximize lifetime value while reducing churn.This leader will oversee multi-channel growth initiatives across search, social, programmatic, and affiliate marketing, while also shaping lifecycle and retention strategies that enhance the customer experience. Working cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, and Creative teams, the Director will translate complex data into actionable strategies, manage budgets for maximum ROI, and continuously test and refine approaches to unlock new growth opportunities.This is a high-impact opportunity for a growth leader with a proven track record in subscription or high-growth digital businesses who thrives at the intersection of analytics, creativity, and execution.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesGrowth Strategy and Planning - Develop and execute a four--year growth strategy to achieve the company’s revenue targets. Define performance goals (e.g., CAC, LTV, ROAS, ARPU, churn, conversion rates) and continuously optimize against them. Own the marketing growth forecast and budget allocation across channels to maximize ROI. Identify and test new channels and partnerships to expand acquisition and retention.Performance Marketing - Lead all paid acquisition initiatives (search, social, programmatic, affiliate, and emerging platforms). Optimize channel mix to lower CAC and scale new members without cannibalizing the existing base.Experience RequiredRequired Length and Type of Experience: 10+ years of experience in growth, performance, or lifecycle marketing; at least 3 years in a senior leadership role Proven track record of scaling subscription-based digital businesses or high-growth consumer tech products Deep expertise in performance marketing across paid social, search, programmatic, affiliates, and emerging channels. Strong understanding of full-funnel metrics, data analytics, attribution modeling, and marketing automation tools Hands-on experience with lifecycle and retention strategies that maximize LTV and minimize churn Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into actionable growth strategiesKnowledge, Skills And Abilities Digital marketing fundamentals: paid search (SEM), paid social, display, programmatic, affiliate, and organic channels (SEO, content) Strategic planning: build multi‑channel growth strategies aligned to business goals and seasonality Data analysis: translate quantitative insights into actionable growth experiments and optimizations Vendor and paid media agency management: select, brief, and manage external partners to deliver growth outcomes. Experimentation: design, run, and interpret A/B and multi‑variant tests; prioritize tests by expected impact Channel management: hands‑on campaign setup, optimization, and scaling across paid and organic channels CRM and lifecycle marketing: design automated journeys that increase retention, average order value, and frequency data and plans into clear executive updates and team priorities.
