If you’re up to the challenge, then take a chance at this rewarding opportunity!Position Overview:Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms and all other corresponding unit areas. Follow prescribed departmental cleaning standards in conjunction with infection control and safety procedures. Responsibilities:Sweeps, dust mops, and wet mopsVacuums, spot cleans walls, cleans glass / ledgesSanitizes patient room surfaces, sanitizes bathroomsPerforms discharge cleaning of patient roomsCleans equipment and notifies the supervisor or lead person of equipment requiring repair. Reports safety hazards to supervisor or lead person. Collects trash from patient rooms, nurses' stations, ancillary areasPulls trash outside around the grounds of the facilityCleans and sanitizes ancillary areasAssists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or reported. Performs any other tasks which may be assigned by the supervisor or lead person. Required Qualifications:Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Good communication skills. Capable of operating heavy cleaning equipment such as vacuums, housekeeping carts, etc. Knowledge: 3 months - 1 year of environmental services experience in a hospital; high school diploma or equivalent GED (preferred).
