Terminal Manager

Dupré Logistics is seeking a hands-on, operationally driven Terminal Operations Manager to lead day-to-day fuel transportation operations while driving safety, profitability, driver retention, and customer service excellence.This role is ideal for a transportation leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance operational execution, people leadership, DOT compliance, safety management, financial accountability, and driver development.The Terminal Operations Manager will oversee terminal operations, driver performance, scheduling, maintenance coordination, and safety initiatives while partnering closely with dispatch, maintenance, recruiting, and customer operations teams.Lead a Strong Safety CultureManage and reinforce terminal safety programs and field observation processesConduct driver coaching, safety counseling, and incident investigationsMonitor DOT and safety compliance requirementsReview driver performance and activity through telematics platforms such as LytxCoordinate customer-specific safety training and terminal safety meetingsDevelop and execute continuous safety improvement initiativesSupport drug and alcohol testing programs and compliance effortsDrive Operational ExcellencePartner closely with centralized dispatch to adjust daily operational plansResolve driver and dispatch issues quickly and professionallyReview driver availability against operational demand and equipment capacityProvide operational support and after-hours/on-call leadership as neededBuild and maintain driver schedules, vacation schedules, and staffing plansEnsure customer coverage while optimizing driver utilizationLead Recruiting, Training & Team DevelopmentMonitor driver staffing projections and hiring needsCoordinate recruiting efforts, candidate interviews, testing, and onboardingLead driver orientation and training programsDevelop driver mentorship and trainee development plansOversee terminal administrative personnel and assistant managersCoach and develop team members through performance management and leadership development initiativesImprove Driver Retention & CultureBuild strong relationships with drivers and operations personnelFoster a positive, team-oriented terminal environmentSupport drivers through coaching, communication, and issue resolutionAnalyze turnover trends and implement retention improvement strategiesEnsure company standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followedManage Equipment & Terminal MaintenanceCoordinate preventive maintenance schedules and equipment repairsReview and approve maintenance work ordersMonitor facility maintenance, certifications, and compliance documentationPartner with maintenance teams and vendors to maximize equipment uptimeOwn Financial PerformanceReview terminal expenses against budget and operational goalsMonitor variable costs and identify improvement opportunitiesAssist with P&L review and operational cost controlReview customer billing documentation and purchase ordersSupport profitability initiatives while maintaining operational service standards
