Job Title: Project Control Specialist IVPosition Type: Contract (12 Months) Location: Madison, WI 53718Work Mode: 100% OnsiteJob SummaryThe Project Control Specialist IV is responsible for implementing and executing project controls across large-scale construction initiatives. This role supports the full project lifecycle from planning and development through execution and final close-out by managing schedule, cost, forecasting, and performance tracking.The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate project reporting, financial forecasting, and schedule compliance while supporting risk identification, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field 6+ years of experience in project controls or related construction/project execution roles Hands-on experience with cost- and resource-loaded project schedules Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 (including resource loading and progress tracking) Experience with project financial forecasting systems and tools Strong understanding of construction contracting methods (EPC, Lump Sum, Unit Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus) Ability to interpret contracts and support change order analysis and negotiations Preferred SkillsExperience with Primavera Unifier or similar document management systems Exposure to corporate financial modeling or planning tools Understanding of construction documentation processes and controls Knowledge of power generation or large infrastructure projects Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic project environments Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a subject matter expert in project controls for scheduling, cost tracking, and performance measurement Support end-to-end project lifecycle activities including planning, execution, forecasting, and close-out Develop and maintain detailed project cost estimates and forecasts, ensuring alignment with risks, change orders, and contingency planning Perform schedule analysis and monitor compliance with contractual milestones and deadlines Track project progress using Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies Provide cost performance insights and early warnings on variances from approved budgets Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate project financial reporting and forecasting Support document control processes, including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and project documentation workflows Provide guidance on project management systems and tools, including scheduling and document control platforms Conduct quantity takeoffs to validate estimates, pricing, and progress reporting Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate cost and schedule data Identify project risks and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies Develop and communicate detailed action plans to support project execution Ensure compliance with contractual terms, scheduling requirements, and reporting standards
