Overview
REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. is a U.S. company specializing in advanced communication solutions, looking for a Software Engineering Co-Op to join our team developing the Sigma software platform. You will develop and support secure real-time voice, video, and chat communication capabilities in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and port applications and device drivers for secure real-time communications (VoIP, RoIP).
Primary work language is C++, with opportunities to use other languages.
Work in Unix/Linux environments, applying modern C++ features and object-oriented design.
Participate in Agile/Scrum practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
Qualifications
Active pursuit of a BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Ability to commit to a double-block full-time Co-Op position (preference for Sophomore and Junior year students). Freshman considered.
Working knowledge of FreeBSD, Linux, or other Unix environments.
Experience with C++ and modern object-oriented design and architecture.
Familiarity with version control systems such as git.
Computer science fundamentals: data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
Basic knowledge of IP/networking.
Compensation
Software Engineering Co-Op Hiring Range $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on 40 hours weekly. Wage range varies with qualifications.
