Print Shop Manager (Large-Format Production & Operations Supervisor)Position SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Print Shop Manager to join our on-site production team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the printing industry, with a focus on large-format and grand-format production environments. This role is essential in ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality output, and excellent client service across all print production operations.Large-format printing experience is required.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with shop leadership (onsite and remote) to provide operational and administrative management supportAssist in organizing and supervising the production workforce during regular and extended shiftsMonitor all jobs in production and communicate special instructions, proof approvals, and shipping details to production and graphics teamsServe as a client contact for questions regarding job specifications, print requirements, and production detailsEnsure all projects are completed on time and within budget and production cost guidelinesTrain production staff on proper print shop procedures, workflows, and equipment usageOversee maintenance and upgrades of large-format printing equipment, recommending new technology to improve productivityManage inventory, materials, and supply organization to support efficient production flowResolve customer issues and escalations in a professional and timely mannerSupport multiple departments and step into production roles as neededPerform additional duties as assigned to support overall shop operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required (technical training preferred)3-5+ years of experience in print production, large-format printing, or print shop operations (required)Strong experience with grand-format and large-format printing workflowsDemonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising production teamsStrong customer service and client communication skills (phone, email, and in-person)Ability to clearly communicate production processes, job requirements, and technical instructionsStrong understanding of print equipment, materials, and production capabilitiesExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer escalations professionally
