Technical Program Manager, Additive Manufacturing
Overview
In this role you drive the end-to-end delivery of metal additive manufacturing programs, from process development to production readiness. You will own cross-functional execution across engineering, operations, supply chain, software, and customers to scale AM capabilities. You contribute to factory buildouts and the broader mission of reindustrializing U.S. manufacturing. This is an ownership role focused on reliability, qualification, and delivering on strategic AM initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesDefine and maintain program planning artifacts (WBS, IMS, risk registers, EVM)Lead process qualification efforts and establish production baselines with traceabilityDrive automation and subsystem integration across AM production cells (laser, powder handling, control systems)Establish and improve machine monitoring and reliability programsServe as primary technical/programmatic interface for aerospace/defense customers with clear communicationsCoordinate across sales, supply chain, and engineering to resolve risks and protect deliveryManage CapEx budget for AM facility buildouts and coordinate with contractorsAdvocate for strategic investments in AM equipment, automation, and infrastructurePartner with sales on program shaping, BOE generation, and DFARS/ITAR-compliant delivery frameworks
Key requirements5+ years of technical program management in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing with hardware-intensive programsDirect hands-on metal additive manufacturing experience (process development, equipment qualification, or production industrialization)Proven ability to take complex manufacturing systems from development to production-grade reliabilityStrong cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, supply chain, and softwareClear communication of status, risks, and decisions to senior technical and executive stakeholdersFamiliarity with NIAR qualification frameworks or AM process certification and audit readinessBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldcross-functional collaborationclear, decision-focused communicationproblem solving under constraintsmetal additive manufacturing (AM)LPBF system commissioningprocess development and qualification
