Position Type:Elementary School Teaching/ESLDate Posted:4/23/2026Location:Noble AcademyESL TeacherNoble Academy, District 4171GENERAL PURPOSE:To work with the classroom teacher on creating an educational program, classroom and building environment that is Multicultural/Gender/Ability Fair, is favorable to learning and growth, and is based on a commitment that all children can learn.REPORTS TO:SuperintendentPROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:A Bachelor's degreeK-12 ESL licensePrior successful experience in a K-8 urban, multicultural education is desirableKnowledge of subject matter, classroom management techniques as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affectiveOral and written Hmong skills preferred but not requiredPROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Undertakes any instructional role under the direction of the School PrincipalProvides direct instruction to individual students or small groups, provided that the teacher has prepared lessons with: objectives, teaching strategies, and evaluation criteriaReinforce and assist with lessons and follow-up assignmentsAssist classroom teacher with the creating and presentation of lesson plansCollaboratively plan and implement instruction designed to accommodate student differences.Provide feedback to teachers and students regarding the student's learningActively participate in the professional development process to achieve and provide support for job-embedded professional developmentDemonstrates empathy, rapport and personal interactions among students, peers, and other adultsMonitor student performance using a variety of informal assessment tools and provide corrective feedback as directedImplement instruction in ways that encourage student learningAccommodate student differences with clear and appropriate oral directions and assignmentsOrganize the physical facilities of the classroom as directedKnow the subject matterKnow and use strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solvingShare expertise and knowledge with othersCollaborate with parent/families, when directed, in making educational decisionsGive and receive feedback in a positive mannerSupport district, school and classroom expectations through positive reinforcementPerforms other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned by the Superintendent and/or CEO If appointed as the ESL PLC Lead responsibilities include:Oversee and monitors ESL student achievement on standards developmentAssists with providing ESL job-embedded professional development KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Ability and willingness to keep records and office space organized and easily accessibleConsiderable ability to follow through in a timely mannerConsiderable knowledge of and ability to perform classroom management skills, practices and relationship buildingConsiderable skills in teaching others to safely operate office machines and equipmentExcellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to members of the public, the community, the staff, the students, and the administrationExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a variety of personality types and dispositions in numerous circumstances while maintaining a controlled, tactful, respectful, professional mannerExcellent team player skills with positive attitudeAbility to maintain a calm presence in an emergencyAbility to think clearly in any situation, determine priorities, and handle multiple tasksAbility to make appropriate decisions quicklyWillingness to show initiative in problem solving and team goal achievementsAbility to take on additional tasks as assigned by senior administration POSITION INFORMATION:Salary: $46,000-$50,000 based on qualificationsBenefits: Medical, HSA, dental, vision, life & disability, accident & hospital , virtual primary care clinic, retirement (TRA)/supplemental retirement (403b) & district matches, PTOPlease note that all employees are expected to understand their role as stated herein and understand that this list is not inclusive.
