Director of FinancePermanentWe are seeking a Director of Finance to support the financial operations of a fast-growing biotech company that develops and ships hardware products. This role will be responsible for building scalable financial processes, implementing modern financial systems, and partnering closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting a company that designs, manufactures, and ships hardware and understands the financial dynamics of physical products including unit economics, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing scale. This is a highly technical role requiring someone who is systems-savvy, analytical, and comfortable implementing fintech tools in a fast-moving environment.This role reports to the CFO and will work cross-functionally across the organization.Financial Planning & AnalysisLead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planningBuild financial models supporting hardware product development and manufacturing scaleAnalyze product margins, manufacturing costs, and hardware unit economicsOperational FinancePartner with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to understand and optimize hardware cost structuresSupport pricing strategy and product margin analysisDevelop financial frameworks for scaling hardware production and inventory managementFinancial Systems & InfrastructureImplement and optimize modern fintech finance tools and automationOwn financial systems architecture and integrationsImprove reporting and financial visibility across the organizationReporting & Leadership SupportPrepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadershipDevelop KPIs and dashboards that track hardware performance and financial healthSupport board reporting and strategic planningProcess DevelopmentBuild scalable finance processes as the company growsIdentify opportunities to automate workflows and improve financial reporting accuracyRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting7–10 years of progressive finance experienceDirect experience supporting a company that designs, manufactures, or ships hardware products (required)Strong understanding of hardware cost structures, COGS, and unit economicsExperience implementing or working with modern fintech finance softwareHighly tech-savvy with strong systems thinkingAdvanced financial modeling and analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in biotech, life sciences, or medical deviceExperience with Ramp (corporate spend management)Experience with Gusto (payroll/HR platform)Experience working in a venture-backed or high-growth companyDeWinter Group and Maris Consulting is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
