ECVC Associate

My client is one of the most active venture capital law practices on the planet. It's a top-ranked practice in VC, PE, and M&A deal volume and has handled over 2,100 financings totaling more than $80 billion in the last three years alone.This isn't a supporting role. You'll be working directly with the partner who chairs the firm's practice. They are a recognized market leader with deep connections throughout the VC and start-up communities. They have personally led hundreds of financings and billions of dollars in transactions. This partner came up through one of the premier Silicon Valley ECVC platforms before being recruited to build something bigger. The team is looking for an associate who can keep up, wants a seat on a rocket ship, and is ready to grow with the team. The work:You'll advise technology, life sciences, and healthcare companies across the full corporate lifecycle — seed-stage formations, Series A through late-stage venture financings, M&A, IPOs, and securities compliance. The client base spans biotech, AI, therapeutics, digital health, climate tech, medtech, cybersecurity, and enterprise software. The deals are real, the stakes are high, and the companies you'll work with are shaping industries.What this takes:This seat requires someone who is intellectually sharp, operationally reliable, and genuinely hungry to grow into an elite ECVC lawyer. You should be comfortable running deal workstreams, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing due diligence, and interfacing directly with founders, executives, and investors. You should be confident and have a record of execution.The details:Locations: Bay Area, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, or San DiegoBase salary: $235,000–$435,000 Annual bonus: $30,000–$115,000 (based on seniority) Billable requirement: 1,950 hours Global AmLaw platform with 1,000+ corporate lawyers worldwide and a 200+ lawyer ECVC practiceIdeal candidate:3–7 years of substantive emerging growth and venture capital experience at a top-tier law firm. California bar required or obtainable.
