The Queen City Academy Charter School of Plainfield is anequal opportunity employer.High School Biology Teacher Position OverviewAll teachers at The Queen City Academy Charter School advance the mission, goalsand educational philosophy of the school by planning and facilitating learningactivities and experiences that advance the intellectual, emotional, physical, and socialgrowth of students, while enabling students to develop competencies, skills anddisposition to function successfully in society.The High School Biology teacher should be able to:● Develop engaging curricula including lab experiments and other scientificinvestigations; they also present lessons and evaluate student performance● Lead in the preparation and grading of examinationsHigh School Biology Teacher● Partner with parents on student performance, and supervising studentbehavior● Work in teams with the rest of their faculty to prepare standardized tests● Participate in the planning of and implementation of their school's policiesand regulations for all studentsQualificationsThe successful candidate will hold at minimum a Bachelor's degree and certification asappropriate. The expectation is that all candidates hold at least a Certificate of Eligibilityand QCACS leadership can provide guidance on obtaining full certification in the State ofNew Jersey. Candidates should be prepared to provide a copy of a valid New JerseyCertificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests. Applicants must demonstratecultural sensitivity, ability to communicate with parents and students across lines ofdifference, have mastery of subject matter content, be a team player, hold highexpectations of students and possess basic understanding of child development.
