Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionWhile showing initiative, youll coordinate and perform cross functional tasks in support of the operations/manufacturing organization. The Manufacturing Engineering will develop strong communications with internal teams to estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. We continually seek ways to develop and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing our teams knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide daily on-the-floor technical support working closely with Cell Leads, Supervisors, and fellow EngineersProvide technical guidance to troubleshoot and remediate problems with existing production processes to ensure throughputDevelop and update existing manufacturing processes. Determine in-process testing and product final inspection requirementsWrite process deviation and rework instructions as required.Responsible for creating and maintaining key process documentation such as Work Instructions, Workbooks, Routings, among others. Support the development of process documentation for new product(s) and changes to existing product(s)Identify and improve the results of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfactionParticipate in the development and analysis of processes, tooling, and effective manufacturing concepts of basic to complex electromechanical devicesEngage in Production Readiness activities. Conduct reviews to ensure that the documentation, production processes, test methods, production specifications, tooling and training are in place to support a controlled production environmentResponsible for improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layoutDevelop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standardsResponsible for the creation of label templates in Brady Workstation or equivalent softwareAnalyze new designs for manufacturability; collaborate to improve product design related to enable processPromote clear process communication and support training of assembly and fabrication personnelProvide critical input, analysis, support, and approval on engineering documentation; participate in design reviewsDevelop expertise in all GDMS products, their design details, product structure (BOM), manufacturing processes, and associated risksProvide input on capital equipment purchases including tools and softwareMay need to work long hours when necessary to complete time sensitive projectsWhat youll experience:Technologies that arent just top-notch, theyre often top-secretA team of bold thinkers committed to exploring whats nextOpportunities to gain new knowledge - as its discoveredWhat you bring to the table:Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.Clear understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesClear understanding of company policies and practicesClear understanding with manufacturing processes and electrical/mechanical components, systems and applicationsClear understanding of MS Office SoftwareMechanical knowledge and aptitude to analyze and troubleshoot abnormal operation conditions on equipment, devices, fixtures, among othersAbility to clearly recognize and report information relevant to sound manufacturing engineering designWhat sets you apart:Creative thinking with the ability to multi-taskCommitment to ongoing professional developmentTeam player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team successWorkplace Options:* This position is fully on-site where you will be part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Manufacturing team.Salary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
