Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor
In this role you will identify, educate, and coach on Environmental, Health and Safety factors in the workplace and make recommendations to reduce and eliminate risk factors for our Wegmans employees, customers, and vendors. Working closely with all levels of management and employees in our various Wegmans business units you will work to modify processes, equipment, and environment to ensure compliance to all Wegmans EHS policies as well as state and federal safety regulations.What will I do?Create, promote, and foster a culture with EHS as a top priority in all assigned work areasPartner with Operations to evaluate and conduct Job Hazard Analysis/Risk AssessmentsMake recommendations for cross-functional solutions from integrated input from Store Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Maintenance OperationsSupport and teach others how to champion necessary change to enhance human safety, always working towards continuous improvementUtilize data and risk assessments to influence management, drive change and prioritize projectsProvide subject matter expertise on EHS regulatory and consensus standardsRequired Qualifications3 or more years of professional Environmental, Health and Safety experienceDemonstrated track record of influencing positive change in people and their work environmentCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or completed prerequisites to obtain certification in futureStrong project management skills and experience developing and implementing EHS programs/management systemsExperience working with Design/Engineering teams on new/remodeled facilitiesDesire for continuous learning in the EHS FieldPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in an EHS related fieldExperience supporting manufacturing and supply chain operationsAt Wegmans, we’ve always believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
