Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Director of Operations, DMC is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing and operational activities at the Spring City site to ensure safety, quality, delivery, productivity and profitability objectives are achieved. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership for production, planning, maintenance, quality, logistics, continuous improvement and workforce development within the ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.The Director of Operations partners closely with executive leadership to drive operations excellence, improve efficiencies, support growth initiatives and ensure customer expectations are consistently met.Davlyn Group is a fast growing, privately owned technical textile company based in Spring City, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, with additional locations in Norristown, PA, Independence, VA and Juarez, Mexico. DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Operational LeadershipDirect and oversee daily manufacturing operations across textile production processes.Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with Company goals and profitability targets.Establish performance metrics and accountability systems to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost performance. Lead production scheduling and capacity planning to maximize throughput and customer service levels.Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, materials and facility resources.Continuous ImprovementDrive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce waste, downtime, scrap and inefficiencies.Implement best practices for workflow optimization, inventory control and operational standardization.Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all Company quality standards, customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Support and maintain ISO, safety, environmental and Customer audit programs.Collaborate with the Quality leader to drive corrective actions and root cause analysis.Promote a culture of operational discipline and continuous quality improvement.Financial & Business ManagementManage operational budgets, labor costs, manufacturing variances and capital expenditures.Set and analyze operational KPIs and financial performance to improve margins and productivity.Participate in forecasting, strategic planning and long-term operational development.Support the sales team regarding production capabilities, lead time and operational planning.Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor and develop production supervisors and department leaders.Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, communication and safety.Support succession planning, employee engagement and workforce development initiatives.Foster positive labor and employee relationships within the manufacturing environment.Safety & EnvironmentalChampion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.Promote and enforce safe manufacturing practices across all operational areas.Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation. RequirementsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business or a related field.10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.Prior experience Prior experience with manufacturing in a textile, industrial fabric, nonwoven or similar facility, a plus.Demonstrated experience leading multi-departmental manufacturing operations.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.Proven experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, kaizen or continuous improvement methodologies.Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.SkillsExcellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.Financial acumen and operational analytics capabilities.Key CompetenciesStrategic LeadershipOperational ExcellenceContinuous ImprovementChange ManagementFinancial ManagementTeam DevelopmentProblem Solving & Decision MakingCustomer FocusSafety LeadershipProcess OptimizationEmployment Type, Classification & Expected Hours Of WorkThis is an on-site, full-time, exempt position.The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, with a 60-minute unpaid lunch.Departmental demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work hours, based on production demands.Position TypeThis is a senior leadership role and will manage direct and indirect reports on the operations team.TravelThis position requires occasional travel to other Davlyn sites.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
