Job Title: Mainframe Production Support EngineerLocation: Berkeley Heights, NJ (Onsite – In-Person Interview Required) Experience: 9+ to 10 Years Employment Type: W2Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Mainframe Production Support Engineer with 9–10 years of hands-on experience in supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining production stability, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operations in a high-volume environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 24/7 production support for mainframe applications (batch and online systems) Monitor production jobs and ensure timely execution of batch cycles Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and incidents Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures Work closely with development, QA, and business teams for issue resolution Handle incident management, problem management, and change requests Support job scheduling tools and ensure job dependencies are maintained Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support when required Maintain proper documentation for incidents, fixes, and processes Required SkillsStrong experience in Mainframe Technologies: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2 Experience with CICS for online transaction processing Hands-on experience with job scheduling tools (Control-M, CA-7, or similar) Knowledge of batch processing and production cycles Experience with incident management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.) Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Familiarity with file transfers, FTP/SFTP, and dataset management Good understanding of ITIL processes Preferred SkillsExperience in Banking/Financial Services domain Exposure to performance tuning and optimization Knowledge of automation/scripting (REXX, Shell scripting)
