Asphalt/Concrete Hard Surface Repair Crew
About the Role
CASE Construction is seeking motivated and experienced laborers to join our hard surface restoration crew based between Lafayette, IN and Whitestown along the I-65 corridor. Our work involves asphalt and concrete patching in coordination with natural gas utility projects across central Indiana.
This is a hands-on position in a three-man crew responsible for restoring streets, sidewalks, and driveways following underground utility work. The right candidate will not only be reliable and skilled, but will also demonstrate the ability to grow into a leadership role over time. Experience operating equipment such as a backhoe or skid steer is highly valued and will be compensated accordingly. Foreman roles are also available for experienced candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Perform concrete and asphalt patching, including forming, pouring, raking, and finishing. This is restoration work where gas utilities have disturbed asphalt/concrete and involves repairing curbs, handicap ramps, driveways, sidewalks, and road patches.
Operate and maintain tools and small equipment (cut-off saws, plate compactors, mixers)
Support site prep and backfill as needed for patching operations
Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and work vehicle
Follow jobsite safety protocols and utility coordination procedures
Work closely with foreman and crew members to complete daily work efficiently and to quality standards
What We’re Looking For
3+ year experience in asphalt, concrete, or general construction labor
Equipment experience (backhoe, skid steer, etc.) is a strong plus
Critical thinker with good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities
Must be physically capable of outdoor labor in various weather conditions
Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Work is local and regional within central Indiana; some daily travel in the crew truck may be required but crews are home every night
