Review the position below and apply today .We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer or sponsor a work visa or employment authorization for this position.This position does not offer relocation assistance.Job SummaryThere is one position available at the V C Summer Nuclear Power Station that will be filled at either the Software Engineer or Sr. Software Engineer level, commensurate with the selected candidates' skills and abilities.Specific Duties May InvolveTroubleshooting, testing, maintenance and repair of servers, workstations, and peripheral equipment associated with the Integrated Plant Computer System (IPCS).Hardware support and maintenance for data acquisition systems.Support and maintenance for the IPCS data diode systemSupport and maintenance for the plant historian systemScheduling and coordination of computer system repairs and maintenance with Engineering and Operations.Maintaining accurate records of testing, calibration, and maintenance as required.Performing software maintenance such as database modifications, system configuration, trending, and system monitoring.Implementation and testing plant design changes to the IPCSRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceSoftware Engineer: 3+ years directly related experience.Senior Software Engineer: 5-6+ years directly related experience.Both LevelsDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot various complex components;Demonstrated skills in the use of advanced controls techniques and a working knowledge of power plant control systems ;In-depth knowledge of industry advances in control system monitoring, testing, and analysis of controls equipment;In-depth knowledge of field instrumentation and control valves;In-depth knowledge of electrical and electronics theory;Knowledge of engineering theories and principles;Strong personal computer skills;Proven decision-making skills;Ability to solve problems and to process information quickly;Knowledge of operating systems including Windows/Linux desired;Working knowledge of SQL and a programming language desired.Education RequirementsPreferredDegree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:BachelorPreferred Discipline(s): Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer EngineeringOther disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.Working ConditionsOffice Work Environment 76 -100%Travel Up to 25%Other Working ConditionsWill require working in hot or cold temperatures and/or inclement weather.Test DescriptionNo Testing RequiredExport ControlCertain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
