Job Title: Vessel Welder – MIG & Flux-Core (Gas Compression Units)
Location: New Iberia, LA
Shift: 1st 6am-4:30pm Mon-Fri, some Saturday's as needed

Position Summary
The Vessel Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding pressure vessels and structural components used in the manufacturing of Gas Compression Units. This role requires proficiency in MIG and Flux-Core welding processes, the ability to pass a roll-out weld test, and experience working with carbon steel and heavy-wall materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of producing high-quality welds that meet strict quality and industry standards.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Perform MIG and Flux-Core welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components for Gas Compression Units.
Complete roll-out welds in accordance with AWS, ASME, and company specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and fabrication drawings.
Set up welding machines, select proper filler materials, and adjust settings based on material thickness and joint configuration.
Fit, tack, weld, and inspect components to ensure proper alignment and weld integrity.
Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Repair weld defects by grinding, gouging, and rewelding as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Work collaboratively with fabrication, assembly, and quality teams to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Assist with material handling, positioning of vessels, and fixture setup as needed.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience welding pressure vessels, piping, or heavy fabrication.
Proven experience with MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Core (FCAW) welding processes.
Ability to pass a roll-out weld test.
Experience welding carbon steel and thick-wall materials.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
Knowledge of AWS and ASME welding standards preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various positions, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience welding pressure vessels, compressor skids, or oil & gas equipment.
Previous work in gas compression, oil & gas, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
Certification in AWS or ASME welding.
Experience with pipe welding and structural fabrication.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
Exposure to welding fumes, heat, noise, and industrial machinery.
Required use of PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00 - $31.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
