Program Officer—Faculty Development

It provides scholarships and holistic support to Native students and collaborates with TCUs to enhance their capacity in academic programs, business operations, community engagement, Native arts, and faculty development.2. About the Opportunity:The Program Officer—Faculty Development is responsible for expanding faculty development programming and implementing a faculty success strategy. This role supports tribal college faculty by providing technical assistance, coaching, and resources to help them excel as educators, scholars, and leaders. The position involves managing multiple programs and engaging with a broad network of faculty, administrators, and funders.3. Responsibilities:Manage the faculty professional development grant program across 34 TCUsCreate and facilitate faculty communities of practiceDevelop and implement courses and workshops for facultyIdentify faculty development needs and connect faculty with mentors and resourcesPlan and host virtual writing retreats each semesterOversee writing and publishing mentorship programsAssist with faculty conference planning and logisticsCo-administer fellowship programsIdentify opportunities for faculty to share research and knowledgeCollect and analyze program data to assess impactContribute to grant proposals and progress reportsDocument and communicate program achievements internally and externallyConduct faculty needs assessments through surveys and discussionsProduce reports, briefs, web content, press releases, and blogsMaintain accurate records and tracking systemsManage faculty newsletter content and disseminationUpdate and maintain faculty web pagesTravel to tribal colleges and conferences to engage with facultyMonitor budgets and grant deliverablesCollaborate with public education teams to highlight faculty achievementsMaintain relationships with staff, stakeholders, and funders4. Requirements:Bachelor’s degreeMinimum five years of professional experienceAt least two years of higher education experience working with or as faculty or in a related roleDemonstrated ability to design, plan, and implement faculty support programsStrong program and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills5.
